The Office of the Auditor General of Puntland concluded a three-day specialized training workshop on the auditing of donor-funded projects, held in Garowe from 21 to 23 June 2026 and delivered jointly with Save the Children.
The workshop convened the office's internal auditors and financial specialists. Its programme covered donor financial reporting, risk assessment, compliance with grant agreements, and the international auditing standards that govern this work.
Concluding the workshop, the Auditor General, Hon. Osman Mohamud Ali (Qaroofey), noted that the quality and transparency of donor-project audits directly underpin the confidence of Puntland's international partners. He urged participants to apply the methods without delay in their routine oversight duties, in support of good governance and financial accountability.
